How You Can Live Your Life According To Jesus
Jesus was a man who lived almost 2,000 years ago. He grew up in a normal Middle Eastern town, where he was born. He lived as everyone else did in that time—he wore clothes, ate food, and spent time with friends.
However, he also preached about the way we should live our lives. He called this life philosophy Jesusism. As he preached this philosophy, he developed a method of living that he called the Way.
The Way is composed of twelve principles that Jesus taught his followers on how to live their lives. These twelve principles are referred to as the 12 Steps of The Way. Although these Steps are not complete unless they are followed in order, they can be practiced out of order depending on the individual and what stage of life they are in.
This article will discuss one of these steps and give some tips on how to live your life according to this step.
Believe in him
The first step to following Jesus is to believe that he even exists. Many people believe he was a great man who lived a life of service and gave us a guide to live by, but he wasn’t the Son of God.
While this may sound crazy, many followers of Jesus believe that he never claimed to be God, only that he did what he did through the power of God.
Jesus said many times that he came down from heaven. But if you read the Bible closely, you’ll discover that Jesus also said “I am” several times — words that are almost identical to the very words used by Jews in their prayers today, which invoke God himself. How could Jesus claim to be God if he wasn’t?
The answer is simple: He couldn’t! Yet there are many who have come to believe that Jesus was nothing more than an ordinary man.
Following Jesus means more than just believing in him. Following Jesus means you strive to live your life the way he lived his life.
Jesus lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15). That means he never did anything against God’s will, nor did he ever fail to obey God. This is an incredible standard to set for yourself, and one that is impossible to achieve without divine help.
However, you can follow Jesus in the way that he lived his life. By observing what actions and attitudes characterized his life, you can model your own life after his.
For example, Jesus was very compassionate toward people. He healed many who were sick and injured, including those who had been rejected by the religious leaders of the day because of their illness or disability (Matthew 9:12; Mark 2:3; Luke 5:13). You could do the same by helping those around you who are suffering.
Love like he does
Jesus calls us to love everyone like he loves us. He loves us so much that he died for us. That is the ultimate display of love!
We are called to love our friends and family, our enemies, people in other religions, and everyone else in the world. This is not a command to adopt universal acceptance of every practice or lifestyle.
This is a command to have such deep affection for every person that we would be willing to die for them as Jesus died for us. We are also commanded to love ourselves in a healthy way, as Jesus does.
As we grow in our walk with Christ, we will find it easier to love like this. Praying for others, studying the Bible, and listening to Christian teachers and leaders all help us do this.
Trust in him
Jesus calls us to trust him. To trust in his ability to forgive our sins, to trust in his death on the cross for our sins, and to trust in his resurrection from the dead.
This is a fundamental part of following Jesus. You can’t follow him unless you have faith in him. He says so himself in the Bible: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (NIV)
But how do you live your life according to Jesus if faith is not enough? How can you trust in him when it comes time to make a decision? How can you know that he is truly God and that he knows what is best for you? How can you have faith in him when it would seem more logical to put your faith in someone or something else?
The answer: look at all the ways Jesus Christ has changed your life and other people’s lives around you.
Ask for his help
Jesus wants you to rely on him for everyday help with everything. He says in Scripture that he is the Good Shepherd, that he lays down his life for the sheep, and that he goes before you to prepare the way.
That means that anytime you need help, guidance, or protection, you can ask Jesus for those things. You can even ask him to help you with certain things, and he promises to give you the wisdom and ability to do so.
But why would you want to ask someone who died 2,000 years ago for help? Because he is the Son of God and because he rose from the dead!
As humans we all have flaws and make mistakes. We cannot save ourselves from our sins; only Jesus can do that. By asking him to forgive your sins and praying to him, he will answer your prayers.
Share his message
Jesus had a message he wanted to share with the world. That message was that he was the Son of God, sent to earth to die for our sins so that we could have eternal life with him in heaven.
He also taught about how we should live our lives-how to be loving and kind, how to treat others with respect, and how to treat ourselves well. These are things that he talked about during his ministry, called the Messianic movement.
While he is the Son of God, Jesus said that all people are children of God. All people have value and are worthy of love, which is one of the core messages of Christianity.
During his ministry, Jesus spent a lot of time talking about how important it is to care for others. He talked about helping those in need, respecting women, and respecting all people regardless of their background.
There are a lot of ways that you can live your life according to Jesus. One way is to help those in need by donating money or items to charities that help people who are less fortunate than you.
Give to others
A key part of following Jesus is understanding that he modeled giving and service for us. He gave his life for us, and he taught that we should give to and serve others.
Jesus spoke about the virtue of generosity and how important it is to our spiritual growth. He said that it was hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, but there’s good reason to think that he wasn’t talking about economic status.
He may have been referring to the inner life of the soul rather than wealth in material things. After all, he himself lived a simple life and never owned anything of material value.
The New Testament book called 1 Timothy says that clergy should receive a salary, so this may have been a concern for people in the early church who may have been fleeing persecution and needed support. Otherwise, the Bible does not say anything about whether or not people should earn money or how much they should give away.
Be humble like he was
Jesus was the most humble person ever. He never bragged about himself or said that he was better than anyone else.
He always made it a point to say that he wasn’t anything special, that he came to serve and not to be served, and that we should love one another as he has loved us.
We can’t really know what kind of personality Jesus had, but we do know that he was very simple and straightforward. He didn’t have any airs about him and he wasn’t flashy. He was just plain and simple.
If you want to live your life according to Jesus, then you should try to be humble like him. Don’t walk around thinking that you are better than everyone else. Instead, try to be more respectful and take time to talk to people who are less fortunate than you.
